Christmas events that give back

December 5, 2010

This week, if you're in the Sacramento area, there a couple Christmas events you should be considering attending.

First, my mother and her friend Dana are selling necklaces on December 8th for The Nakate Project - an initiative both providing and funding microfinance projects in Uganda that my friend Em and I began working on a few months ago, and plan to expand over the next year.

Second, my friend Aaron is hosting a gala for his beautiful wife, Cacey's, 30th birthday on December 12th.
The night will benefit Hope Takes Root, a new local effort to support adoption, orphan care and foster care, both here at home and around the world.

As Aaron writes, "The global orphan crisis is touching 163 million children now. And there’s no time like now to start changing the world."
