Food makes it fall

September 25, 2009

In New York, fall settles in at about 50 degrees.
Today, it feels like 95 outside.
In New York, we wear scarves, tights, boots.
Today, I'm wearing a tank top and shorts.
In New York the pavement feels cold to my feet, and I sit on the porch with a big blanket to read and drink coffee.
Today, I'm barefoot and just painted my toe-nails a summery bright pink.

there is one constant, here, in this crazy change that I am experiencing. And, of course, it has to do with food.

Thank you, Starbucks, even though I hate you for burning your coffee and think that small organic coffee shops kick your ass, for being a fall constant in my life.

I love you for your pumpkin cream cheese muffins.
